Annual Gala

November 2011

Dear Community Member,

I would like to introduce Crossroads Center for Children. We are a not-for-profit school serving children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities. While Crossroads has been in operation in the Glenville area since 1998, we recently moved our school into the Rotterdam Corporate Park. Our new facility will allow us to better serve our students and their families as well as the community as a whole. We are very excited to be in our new home and look forward to continuing to serve this area for years to come.

Crossroads provides an intensive school program for students, both at home and in a school setting. The school serves families from eight different counties and approximately 30 surrounding school districts. In addition to providing high quality and effective academic services, Crossroads provides parent and professional training, parent support, behavior management programs, and sibling counseling. While we receive funding in theform of tuition from school districts, counties andthe state, those monies do not cover all of the costs of running a successful and effective program. In order to support our students and their families in the most effective manner, Crossroads must do additional fund raising to fill the gap.

Our Annual Gala will be held this year on April 27, 2012 at KeyHall at Proctors in downtown Schenectady. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. As part of the event, attendees enjoy bidding on items offered during both a silent and live auction. In the past Crossroads has relied on donations from local businesses and individuals in order to make this event successful. We have always been touched and grateful for the level of support we have received. In addition to thedonation of services, gift certificates and merchandise, we offer various levels of advertising and sponsorship opportunities that we hope you will choose to participatein. All monies raised go directly to program activities that support our students and their families.

Thank you in advance for your support of Crossroads Center for Children. Please email Cindy Barkowski, Gala Chairperson, at cinbad@nycap.rr.com if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Kelly Young

Executive Director
